Which common mistakes should I avoid?

These mistakes cause almost all complaints, bad results, and fast wear:

Do not Skip the “2 vs 3 pass” step:
If you sharpen your dull blades only 1 time, it is highly likely your dull blade will get blocky & unsharp teeth. When you use 2 passes, you'll get coarser teeth (wood/drywall/plastic). With 3 passes you'll get finer teeth (light metals).

Using carbide blades:
Carbide is not suitable for SharpTool 2.0.

Drill speed to high:
Stay around 1200 RPM. Start low and increase only if needed.

Using too much pressure:
Light pressure only. Extra force increases heat, sparks, and wear.

Overheating the blade/head:
Sharpen a maximum of 1 blade per minute and let everything cool down.

Sharpening in a messy or unsafe area:
Wear PPE and work in a clean, well-lit, ventilated space with bystanders away.

If you want, send support one photo of the blade you’re sharpening and we’ll confirm compatibility before you waste time.
