If the blade slips, you will get inconsistent sharpening and you risk injury. This is almost always caused by unstable holding or too much pressure/speed.
Fix it like this:
- Secure the blade before you start SharpTools’ safety instructions state the multitool blade should be secured firmly. If possible, clamp the blade (or the tool holding it) so your hands aren’t fighting the rotation or vibration.
- Reduce pressure Use light pressure only. If you push hard, the blade will “grab” and slip.
- Start slower Start at the lowest drill speed and increase only if needed. Keep under 2500 RPM.
- Keep hands dry and surfaces clean; Oil, dust, or resin on the blade can reduce grip and increase slipping. Wipe the blade and your grip area clean before sharpening.
