How do I know when the sharpening head needs replacement?

Replace the sharpening head when:

- Sharpening results drop clearly (you need many more passes and the blade still won’t improve)

- When you’ve reached roughly ~400 sessions under normal use.

A sharpening head is a sustainable product but performance will gradually decline with use.

Do NOT use carbide blades—this can wear the head down much faster.
If performance suddenly drops, first verify:

(1) blade material (no carbide)

(2) drill speed ≤1200 RPM

(3) light pressure

Note: If the results of sharpening still don't improve, it’s time to replace the head.
